The Watertown Astronomy Society was founded in May of 2003 by David Stewart. and Dave Gritzner. Since that initial founding the club has grown to 14 members. Our club mission is to share the enjoyment of astronomy with the community of Watertwon, Wi. We hold public star parties, participate in public events, and if the demand is there we will teach a 'Backyard Astronomy' class.

Membership is open to anyone, you can contact us though the email address or attend our monthly club meeting. The club meeting is held the third Thursday of each month at the Watetown Senior Center.
David Stewart passed away on May 2, 2006.  David is shown here, his reflection in a solar filter over his 8" Meade Telescope. To the left is the rear of his van, which always had a telescope (or two) ready for clear skies. Along with being our founder, he was also very active in the local Civil Air Patrol. He will be deeply missed.
